Update from Camp Director - Jon Pivnick

I’d love to know why the inspiration to write always comes at this hour.  It may be that everyone is asleep and the day has finally calmed down enough that my thoughts can be redirected to communicating with you, the parents.

Visiting Day was magnificent.  It was great getting a chance to talk to many of our families.  I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did. Visiting Day produced a record number of stayovers of  either 5 ½ or 7 weeks.  We couldn’t be more pleased with the results and all the things that have happened this summer so far. With all that success we then have to get busy getting ready for the children that will be leaving, those that will be coming, changes to our dining hall arrangements, getting the canteen cards ready and a whole lot more.  I can say that we are ready for the sun to rise tomorrow.

In my 5 years since returning, tonight was the best post-banquet celebration that we’ve had.  The videos by Jordy, the slide show by Adam, the skits by the staff and the musical entertainment by the campers were beyond compare. Everyone enjoyed the evening.  There were lots of tears as people began to say goodbye to those that are returning home this morning.  If you check our web-site, the countdown to next summer has already started and your children already know that!

Jordy has recently produced two videos: The Pursuit of Campiness and an All-Camp Lip Dub.  The All-Camp Lip Dub was a huge production, everyone had fun and found out what it was like to be part of a production of this magnitude.  It took several takes before we did it right.  Watch it to the end to see the out-takes.

Customer Satisfaction Survey

In partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Camp, Camp B'nai Brith of Ottawa is administering a Customer Satisfaction Survey.  We need your help and we would appreciate everyone’s participation as this will increase the validity of the results.

Customer Feedback

This survey gives us an opportunity to learn what drives a successful camp experience based on the perception of you, our customers, and then challenges us to improve based on your feedback. We have used the information in all of the previous years to drive the changes that we make to our camp and operation. This survey is being conducted by a professional market research firm (Summation Research) that will be reporting the findings to us.

National Impact

Your participation in this survey also assists the larger field of Jewish camping in assessing parent satisfaction across the country. Currently, 72 Jewish camps throughout North America are participating in this survey.
